5 Ways to Create a Cozy Space
When your niche is home decor and you only have one giant studio to play with, you get bored when the decor stays the same for too long. With the help of Society6, the incredible decor company that supports talented artists and prints their designs on tens of thousands of products, I decided to remake my entire living room! The results were absolutely stunning. Just take a look!
After browsing for 5 whole hours nonstop (I could honestly browse for the entire day if I had that liberty), I decided on the following products:
- 51 x 60" Frida Throw Blanket
If you’re itching to redecorate your living room, bedroom, kitchen nook, or just about any space, here are my five tips for making it as cozy as possible!
1. Don’t leave your walls empty!
Walls are quintessential to building a cozy atmosphere, so pick a print, tapestry, or any other piece of wall decor that has warm or pastel colors so you can introduce a cozier atmosphere to your space. Since Society6 has such a large selection of prints, you don’t have to sacrifice your personal style in order to achieve that cozy look. Even a cactus could work!
This wooden cactus print was even more beautiful in real life than in photos. The amazing thing about purchasing from Society6 is that you’re also supporting the artists who created these prints. Yes, they get a portion of the sales! And new artists sign up every day to work with Society6, so you’ll never run out of new prints to admire. For every single print that you love, there are a handful of different products that you can choose from! Just take a look at these other possibilities (the images are clickable):
2. Floof it up with floor pillows!
Floor pillows, bean bags, and any sort of cushion that you can use to sit on the floor just makes the space seem so much more personal and inviting. I chose a mustard-yellow mudcloth floor pillow and Ollie loves it!
I decided on a mudcloth floor pillow because I often sit on the ground while eating and watching Netflix. Not only is the pillow made with high quality, durable materials, it’s also comfortable as heck! Here are a few of my other favorites:
They have a vast selection of floor pillows, so don’t think you’re limited to just mudcloth prints. Check it out here!
3. Throw in some throw pillows
What’s a cozy couch without its cushions? BORING! Jazz it up with as many cushions as your heart desires (or as many that would fit on the couch).
Aside from the comfortable floor pillow, I also got the Round About Throw Pillow and the African Tribal Throw Pillow. They fit surprisingly well with the rest of the decor I got! Here are a few of my other favorite throw pillows:
Once again, they have thousands of different selections, so don’t feel limited by my picks. Just take a look yourself!
4. Add a soft blanket
With the Fall weather slowly settling in, you can’t convey “coziness” without a soft blanket to snuggle in! Find one that matches the color scheme of your overall space, but also stands out as an accent piece.
Every single piece I got from Society6 feels like an artwork on its own right, but the Frida blanket was especially wonderful. Not only is this depiction of her so dang gorgeous, but the quality of the blanket is even better than what I’d expected! It’s super soft to the touch. Perfect for cozying up on the couch during these cold winter months! Here are some other Frida stuff that I know you’ll absolutely love:
Again, you can get these Frida artworks printed on a variety of different products, so don’t limit yourself to just a throw blanket! I have my eyes on a Frida tapestry next ;)!
Also, I was debating whether or not I should get an eyelash pillow, tapestry or mug… and as you can see from the photos, I decided on the mug because it’s a bit more practical. Love how it came out! Check out the rest of their chic eyelash-printed products!
5. Tie it all up with a stunning rug!
Similar to walls, our floors also give us the great opportunity to shape the atmosphere of our environment. Choose a rug that complements your color scheme and makes the space feel warmer and more inviting. Warm colors and round or organic shapes can generally convey that feeling of coziness.
The “Watermelon Rug” that I got was actually voted by my IG followers! I held a poll between five different rugs and this one won :). There are actually two rugs featured, hence the little line between them. Isn’t it so awesome that Society6 also prints on rugs?!?! My goodness, the possibilities are seriously endless x). Here are a few other rug prints that I’m absolutely in love with:
I hope you enjoyed this living room transformation! Don’t be surprised if I come back with another transformation after exploring Society6’s website for a few more hours, LOL! Seriously though, I hope you’ll love them as much as I do. I wouldn’t recommend them so fervently if I weren’t 100% happy with their products. I shopped with Society6 since 2016 and it’s been two beautiful years. Cheers to a lifetime of supporting artists!!
